We love what’s happening on Freo’s walls at the moment. When you are down in South Freo, make sure you check out Anya Brock’s work on Ootong and Lincoln’s north wall. Zebras better than in the wild. Murals, keep on coming – maybe also to Freo’s ‘problem areas’?

You always know Spring is here as soon as Hulbert Street begins preparations for its Sustainability Fiesta. The fiesta has been running for five years and it’s one of the biggest community events on the Freo calendar. Last year nearly 6,500 visitors enjoyed the weekend.

We’ve been eating pastries and drinking coffee from here for the past four years and we’re pretty sure everyone in Fremantle knows how good it is. But just in case you’ve never been you should drop by and have yourself some deliciousness. Their chocolate eclairs are the stuff of legends. My favourite is their apricot pastry, I can also recommend their donuts (loads of jam) and the frangipane tart. Plaques and ribbons are dotted around the store as their cakes and pasties have consistently won a gazillion awards at the Perth Royal Show, mmm award winning baked goods.

We like the gawky awkwardness of the hounds, here’s a few photos that we took on the opening night of the exhibition:

I saw a Wolfhound down at South Beach over the Easter holidays, in a skirt… as you do.

Wolfhounds are a noble beast. They were the guard dog of the ancient High Kings of Ireland. They were held in such high esteem that wars were fought over them.
