Bathers Beach Sunset Markets Open

Did you go to the markets on Saturday? If you didn’t you might be the only one as it seemed like the whole of Fremantle decided to have dinner at Bathers Beach that evening. We met up with a group of friends and bumped in to a load more over the course of the evening. We had some bruschetta (delicious, try it), pad thai, gozleme, hot dogs little mini fluffy pancake things and paletas for dessert. The wind was blowing hard so it got pretty cold when the sun dropped… need to remember it’s not quite Summer just yet a jacket would have been a good idea.

Bathers Beach Markets Open for The Summer Season

It’s that time of year, the Summer is almost here so it’s time for the Sunset Markets, HURRAY. Want to see what’s kind of stuff is going on? Check out last year.

Mayor Brad and some City of Fremantle Councillors will be turning on the cliff lights at 7pm just as the sun goes down.

When: Saturday evenings 5-9pm through summer, beginning Saturday 22nd November.

Jazz at the Odd Fellow

We went to the jazz night downstairs at the Odd Fellow last Thursday. We arrived early at 6:30 for a 7:00pm start so we propped ourselves up at the bar for a few drinks. By 7:30 we realised we were two and a half hours early for the show as it was stating at nine but that didn’t matter because we having such a great time. The bar staff at the Odd Fellow are really wonderful and by the time it was jazz o’clock we’d had quite a few cocktails and several cheese plates, damn that delicious triple brie.

Marika had her previous exhibition at Ootong & Lincoln if you remember. Now her latest work is on display at the Tradewinds Hotel restaurant.

Marika takes the chance to print her work on large scale, allowing the colour and graphic imagery to have its full impact on the viewer. The framed works have been lacquered, adding a brushstroke finish that (along with colour and composition) intentionally leaves the viewer wondering if they are looking at a painting or a photograph.
