After months (years?) in the making, the exposed bricks, glass and steel lurking at 43 Packenham Street in the West End has just today come to life as Bread in Common – part bakery, bar, restaurant, cafe, coffee shop… and perhaps the night-life kick-starter that the West Ends needs.
We popped in for a coffee just after they opened this morning (coffee is good, their home baked bread even better). The place looks fantastic and we’re looking forward to consuming much food and wine here.
Update… Went back in on Thursday for some lunch and it was really good. We can recommend the pork belly and lamb ribs. The home-made churned butter served with the bread is great to pick on while you’re waiting for your mains.
