Raw Food Café at Fern Community Garden

Fern Community Garden is on my way to work and I recently noticed a new sign advertising a new raw food vegan café. I’m up for that… it’s spring, the sun is shining, it’s balmy warm, perfect weather for raw food.

Fern Community Garden is on Montreal Street out near where High Street meets the Stirling Highway, the Western Farmers Market used to be there. Because it’s a community garden it’s all lush and green and full of edible plants. It’s a casual set-up with seating and tables scattered around the raised beds. It’s nice to spend your lunch hour with the chickens pecking around plus about a gazillion cabbage butterflies fluttering by. There was lots on offer like falafel, burgers, sandwiches, quiche plus lots of salads. The desserts were pretty amazing as well so leave a bit of room for those when you go there.
