Last weekend I had a mad craving for a steak but for some reason I ended up at Chogajip* on Essex Street. I can’t remember how I got from steak to Korean food but I’m very glad I did. It was once of those places where you want to eat the whole menu and you’re tormented by a really good choice of dishes. I’m just thinking about the soup I had… I could so hover a bowl of it up right now. Bonus points: it’s not that expensive mains are about $15 up. I’ve walked past there so many times and I was thinking why have I never gone in before, find the florescent strip lights outside a tiny bit off putting but once you’re inside it’s actually nicely lit and has a warm atmosphere.
We were there early on Saturday so it was a little empty at the time so I didn’t feel like a complete tool when I took my camera out and started taking pictures of my food.

19c Essex Street,
Open 7 days (I think) for lunch and dinner and take-away.
*I looked it up and chogajip is a thatched-roof house in Korea.
