Yesterday, as every weekend, the Melbourne Man and I went down to Old Shanghai (opposite the markets) for lunch. My favourite shop is Siam Kitchen, where they seem to have the freshest ingredients and do not add any MSG to their meals (big plus). Their vegetarian Pad Thai is to die for – just the right mix of textures and flavours, soft noodles, crunchy vegies, luscious tofu (you can have prawns, beef or chicken instead), … yumm! The Melbourne Man went for a Sate dish of the Malaysian shop, but unfortunately found it far too oily and rich. The Japanese shop always has a long queue, so I assume their food is worth trying.
